We are at a yarn show this weekend (21st May). Our online shop will re-open next week, once we've had a chance to do a stock check. Apologies for any inconvenience. We will be back soon! (Sock club sign ups remain open)
Joinery Shawl – PDF Pattern
Please note that by downloading this pattern within 14 days of purchase, you are agreeing that you lose your right to cancel. Please see our Terms & Conditions for full details.
This is for the PDF pattern only. Also available as a kit.
The pattern uses just two stitches, Tunisian simple stitch and Tunisian knit stitch, which makes it a great project if you are new to Tunisian crochet.
Finished shawl approx. 185cm x 24cm (73” x 9.5”)
Dragon Hill Studio – Brecon Sock
70% Superwash Merino, 20% Yak, 10% nylon, 400m (437yds) per 100g (3.5oz) skein
A – 1 skein
B – 1 skein
Sample shown in
A – Slate
B – Before the Storm
6mm Tunisian hook, 30cm (12″) long, or size required to get gauge.
1 removable stitch marker (optional).
19 sts and 15 rows in Tunisian simple stitch over 10cm (4”)
The Joinery Shawl is worked sideways and shaped using increases and decreases. The border is worked at the same time as the main body of the shawl. I designed the shawl to work self-striping sock yarn, specifically our Brecon Sock ‘Before the Storm’ colourway. I think our Bright Colour Wheel and Pastel Colour Wheel colourways (available on Chepstow Sock or Sherborne Sparkle) would also work well, although the stripes are shorter on these bases.
Suitable for a beginner. As long as you have done a little bit of Tunisian crochet before, you should be fine.
